I've had several requests to know where we live, and where the base is.
We'll be getting a car a week from tomorrow, but for now we mainly take the train.
We live in Zushi City, in the Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan.

Our US Navy housing area is called Ikego (ee-kay-go)Hills.

We live in the Ise (ee-say) Tower.

The blue lines show the route we walk to get to the train.

If you walk a short distance and stand with your back to the Mini Mart this is the Train Gate, which STILL isn't opened!!

This is how close the unopened gate is from our tower, note the orange 7-11 sign:

From just outside the main gate and across the train tracks, now we walk back along the tracks:

Side street along the way:

Looking back at the street we just walked:

Remember that orange 7-11 sign from the unopened gate....here we are!

We walk from home to Jimmuji Station.

Cross the train tracks...

Then go via train about 10 minutes to Kanazawa-hakkei Station. We change trains and occasionally platforms...

...and travel on to the Shioiri Station, about 20 minutes.

Then a 15 minute walk...

...down a few small streets:

Until we reach the 16:

Cross the street and there is the Daiei (die-ay) Mall and Wendy's:

A long block down and at the walk-over is the Main Gate!

...and we're at the base!
